Alphabet Local Media is “committed to positive change by supporting equity, equality, diversity, inclusion, racial justice and social justice here in all areas of life … for everyone … regardless of ethnicity.”
“Social justice, social equality, racial justice, inclusion and diversity represents who we are as a media company. To this end we have included anti-bias education, equality training and diversity training in our program.”
The racial inequality, racism, violence and oppression of Black people, Brown people and Indigenous peoples must stop now. We need positive action and support for social justice to stop these practices and the many other centuries old issues of community shared injustices.
What are the issues?
This debate continues as the country grapples with social and financial inequity issues with regard to many disenfranchised and oppressed groups, including Black, Brown and Indigenous peoples. The solution to these issues can be solved over time when we unite as a people with this as a common goal.
Ending injustices in our communities along with racial inequalities, economic inequality, job discrimination, equal pay for equal work, sexism, and local police brutality directed towards indigenous people and all people of color will help make this country “a more perfect union” in this 21st century.
Foundation of Principles
We are confident of the true meaning of the below stated passage found in the Declaration of Independence that came to represent a foundation of principles and a high moral standard to which the United States should strive.
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
The second paragraph of the United States Constitution starts as follows: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Goal: “A More Perfect Union”
To quote the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, who believed those words were important for the survival of the newly formed nation not quite 90 years old, when he said, “Nations do not die from invasion, they die from internal rottenness.”
Additionally, as a nation, we were built on a foundation of principles that includes freedom, equality, and justice plus community respect for all people regardless of color, national or social backgrounds. Practicing these principles is in the best interest of every person regardless of where they come from or their ethnicity as we work to become “a more perfect union”.
